Which is why he travelled to the city, becoming a Hunter in on of the offices set up there. He's good at fighting and a half-breed like him is often underestimated. It's a new start, and he was ready to move on.
So imagine his surprise, when he stumbled across her again by pure chance - they had both entered the same bakery, and reached for the same thing. Only when he tried to speak to her, Anastasia immediately turned on her heel and walked away - leaving him and her two... companions with an awkward silence.
He could understand her reluctance to talk to him, he supposes. She left saying they would probably never meet again - and here they are.
One of them had left after the nephilim, leaving him with the blond haired man. And with a sigh, Arterius turns towards him.]

[ Ran's tone is careful, but not confrontational. He needs more information to resolve this situation. ]

[ Ran puts on a partly sympathetic face - if Artie is going to hang around, he'll have to try and make it less of a problem for Ana to deal with. The half-demon doesn't seem bad at first sight, so he can give some allowance. ]

[Very reasonable and sensible, this guy. It makes the fact he's Ana's friend more of a relief - he can still clearly recall how much of a handful the nephilim could be.
But with that, Artie passes his number to the other man before letting him go on his way. He still had things to settle at the Hunters office either way.
Only a little later does he send a message to Ran, inviting him to one of the bars in the city to chat. He doesn't know if Ran drinks or not, but it's a quiet place and nobody should be bothering them, at least.]

After he left, he had tried to get some answers out of Ana with Sonali's help, but she wasn't willing to speak of it just yet. So be it then; two sides of a story are necessary for him to make any sort of judgment and the details will become clear in time.
